Getting yourbusiness.co.uk to show your site, instead of a long address.
In the builder, press Domain shop and type the name you would like. We will tell you what is free and what it costs: £12 a year for .co.uk and .uk, £15 a year for .com. Pay for a year of your package up front and your first address is free for its first year.
Buying it here saves you the setting-up below: it is registered in your name, pointed at your website for you, and the padlock is sorted automatically. You can move it to another company whenever you like.
Keep the address you have, wherever it is registered. It stays yours and you carry on paying for it there. Point it at us like this.
In the builder, open Setup and press Use my own address.
Type your domain into the box. Instructions appear showing exactly what to add.
Log in where your domain is registered and find its DNS settings.
Add the two entries shown. They tell the internet where your site lives.
Come back and click Check it now.
The check tells you plainly whether it has worked, and what is wrong if it has not. Changes usually take a few minutes, occasionally a couple of hours.
It is handled for you. The first time somebody visits your domain, a security certificate is fetched automatically and renewed from then on. There is nothing to buy and nothing to do.
